April 14, 2008 meeting
Thank you
A special thank you to all the helped this Commission during Holy Week. The assistance we received was truly appreciated. Thank you to those who delivered the flowers to the shut-ins, those who helped prepare for the soup supper. We also thank the Titans for setting up the hall and all those who decorated the church. A special thank you to John Koski who took time from work to prepare for and organize the soup supper.
Stations of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross went well but the attendance was very low. Next year the Commission will review to see if the Stations should be offered at a different time and day. A special thank you to Chris Gosselin for providing the music, William Grise for organizing the cross bearers and candle holders, for all the readers and all those who assisted with the Stations of the Cross. A special thank to John and Marie Koski for organizing this event.
Holy Thursday
Thank you to all who assisted in this Mass. The presentation of gifts went well and will be continued. Thank you to the reader and to Marie Koski for arranging for the readers and a special thank you to those willing to have their feet washed. Each year it becomes harder to find people willing to participate we truly appreciate those who stepped forward to help. Consideration will be given to only having the older altar servers at adoration next year.
Easter Flowers
The Commission was happy with the flower selection for Easter and will keep the same order next year.
Summer
Since the Church is now air conditioned the altar servers will remain wearing black in white as this looks much better and prevent bright colors from being seen. Mr. Grise will monitor this and advise of any issues.
Corpus Christi
There will be a procession at the 10:00 AM Mass on May 25, 2008 for Corpus Christi. Those attending Mass will be invited to participate in the procession.
Agenda
At the Commission’s first meeting in September the 2008 /2009 agenda will be addressed. Anyone with any recommendation is invited to attend the meeting or present his or her ideas to a Commission member prior to the meeting. The Commission will be looking to present program in 2008/2009.
This was the last meeting for this Commission this year. Once again I thank all of the Commission members for their assistance and support during the year. I also thank all those who offered this Commission assistance. THANK YOU!

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION COMMISSION- Terry Roberts
Meeting 4-1-08

The April meeting was held on the 1st.Marge Snow and Lorraine Sherry were absent.

The commission has nominated a candidate for the Pope Pius X Award and the name has been submitted to Father Tatro for his approval.

The policy statement for the year 2008-2009 was approved and accepted by all members of this commission.

The Confirmation students attended the Chrism Mass at St. Michael's Cathedral during Holy Week. This year the program saw some changes which seemed to appeal to everyone, especially the many high school youths who are present at this Mass. The traditional music that is customarily provided by the organist and choir was substituted for a young musical group from St. Johns' Parish, consisting of drums, guitars, keyboard and 3 singers. The style of music was uplifting, the choices of songs were familiar and most of the congregation joined in the singing.

On Good Friday, members of the Confirmation class and other classes portrayed a moving dramatization of the Stations of the Cross. Once again, the presentation was very well received by a fairly large number of parishioners.

We extend our apologies to Barbara Lyon whose name was omitted from the teachers' list in the bulletin and also to Mary Hassett whose name was also omitted from the Good Friday cast members' list. The commission suggested that Mr. Lyon advise Cheryl Rivers of the omissions so this can be corrected in a future bulletin.

The annual Catechetical Reviews for the upcoming 9th and 11th graders have been mailed to the students and are due back by July 15th.

As of this date, 17 registrations have been received for next year's classes.

The sacrament of Confirmation will take place on Saturday, April 12th at 5:3 pm and the sacrament of

Holy Eucharist will be celebrated on Saturday, May 3rd at 1 lam.

The meeting was closed with a prayer.
