The meeting commenced at 7:00.
Fr Bernier offered the opening prayer.

MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS COUNCIL MEETING
- May 2009 meeting minutes were reviewed. Motioned by Bill Grise to approve.
Seconded by Marie Koski. All in favor.
COMMUNICATIONS - Reported by John Bourque
- The St. Mary's Parish received a thank-you card from our past interim parish
administrator Father Galadima Goni.
SPIRITUAL LIFE COMMISSION – Reported by Marie Koski
- No commission meeting was held in June.
- There was nothing to report.
ST. MARY’S WOMEN’S CLUB – Reported by Barbara Brownlee
- Our Annual Recitation of the Rosary on Sunday, May 17th, proved successful with
many parishioners staying after the 10 AM Mass.
- Forty-one ladies and Fr. Bernier attended the Spring Banquet immediately
following at the Clarion Hotel ending our 2008-2009 season. At this event, Fr.
Bernier was presented a check in the amount of $1,000 for general church use.
- Our membership drive for 2009-2010 has been announced with an envelope provided
in the June parish support packet.
- The Women's Club wishes to thank all members of the parish for their continued
support of our programs. We wish all a happy and safe summer.
ST. MARY’S MEN’S CLUB – Reported by John Koski
- No Men's Club meeting was held in June.
- There was nothing to report.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION COMMISSION – Reported by Cathy Menard
- No commission meeting was held in June.
- There was nothing to report.
ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE – Reported by Gilbert Viteralli
- We walked through the buildings to list those maintenance projects which need to be
addressed.
- The Main focus this year will be the auditorium, the ceiling, broken fan, peeling
walls, and cleaning of the kitchen and floors. Some has been put out to bid, but
some we are going to try to do in house. Michael Roy has been contracted for the
work.
- The Parish Council meeting room needs cleaning, ceiling tiles changed and the A/C
filters cleaned.
- We have a moisture problem in Classroom #7 and in the hallway going to the front
vestibule of the Church. Some of the rugs need cleaning and the floors in the
classrooms need to be mopped and waxed. The ceiling in one of the classroom
closets needs patching. Desks in all the classrooms need to be cleaned.
- The entry door crash bars need to be updated in the front of the Church and on
the rectory side of Church. We are in the process of getting estimates.
FAMILY AND COMMUNITY LIFE COMMISSION – Reported by John Koski
- No commission meeting was held in June.
- There was nothing to report.
OLD BUSINESS
- Discussion continued in regard to the anticipated parish merger with Our Lady of
Hope Parish. Lee Lyon expressed particularly concerned about the possible merger
of the two Religious Education programs during the middle of the Religious Ed
school year. Fr Bernier expects that the Diocese will announce a decision by
Summer's end; Probably in August. Fr Bernier suggested that all parish activities
should continue as usual until an official Diocesan communication is received.
NEW BUSINESS
- Fr Bernier mentioned that the church's electronic bell/carillon system needs to
be replaced. The current system has about a years service remaining. Two of the
four broadcast speakers have failed already.
